Savor the Season

Summer is here. Which means lots of time with my boys. Lots of fighting. Lots of nagging. Lots of complaining. And hopefully lots of LOVE and FUN. I'm co-leading a book study for some fellow MOPS moms, and this is my favorite story from the book so far. I can totally relate. And I will plan to enjoy the season!

"The peaches are great," the jovial Peach Philosopher encouraged when we pulled off the road in front of her fruit stand. "Try one," she continued, handing us each a thick, juicy slice.

"Yummmmm," we agreed trying to decide how many we would purchase.

"Get a whole bushel," she urged, "and eat your fill. That way you won't have any regrets when peach season is over."

As we drove away with a bushel on the backseat, I knew she'd given me a tip for life. Seize and savor the moments of the season you're in. That way, you'll have fewer regrets when the season ends.

School's Out For Summer!!

I think this school year has gone faster than any year prior to this! I cannot believe summer is here already. It's been really hot here the last few days. I cannot wait to take the boys swimming. They took lessons at the high school for two weeks, so everyone is ready to practice their new skills!

Here is a picture of Noah at his 3rd grade awards program. He rocked this semester and made All A Honor Roll!!

And the twins graduated from preschool. Kindergarten here we come!

What have we been up to?

We've been playing some great games of kickball in the backyard. Someone usually ends up crying, but it is fun nonetheless!

Devin and I tried to rescue some baby ducks abandoned by their momma. We had high hopes of raising ducklings in the backyard. There were 13 eggs in the nest! But when we found out they were mallards, they ended up here.

And lastly I've been amazed by my talented son Noah. He can hang by his dirty toes! With skills like that I know my boy will go far in life. I can just see it on his resume, and I have the picture to prove it!

My new BIG ring

I ordered some jewelry from sam moon the other day. One of the items I ordered was a ring. I've been wanting some cool cheap rings that I have seen lots of girls wearing lately. I cracked up when I tried my new ring on. It sure was big! Seriously, it covered up most of my finger. Now I just need to go buy some clothes to match it. That's how I roll....I buy the jewelry first and then the clothes to match.

BIBLEMAN Review

My now nine year old son was a HUGE Bibleman back in the day. He would talk to the lady who owned the local Christian book store and beg her to order the movies for him. I think he has watched every episode multiple times! That being said, I was excited to watch this episode with him. It's been a long time since we sat down and watched a show together. This is a recording of a Bibleman Live event. I am guessing it was at a church. My nine year old didn't really like this show, he said it was kind of boring. And the technology used to make this film is somewhat outdated.

My five year old twins who watched this with us were a little more excited about the show, but will probably not ask to watch it again!
