Last Day of School!

So it looks like my first grade twin boys never cleaned out their desks this year.  They both came home with two bags full of stuff.  Papers, folders, notebooks, crayons, pencils, erasers, glue sticks, markers, and junk out the wazoo!  There were papers from the beginning of the year and papers from the end of the year.  So I spent about an hour sorting through the piles and ended up trashing most of it.

I think I tossed approximately 78 pencil nubs, 64 broken crayons, and 4 rancid glue sticks.  I did not know glue sticks could smell so bad after 8 months!
And if you need an eraser, please feel free to stop by our house.  I told them I am not buying any more pink erasers!  Not one of them had a scuff mark.  It looks like they just drew on them and tore them into pieces.

Our school district is going to the balanced calendar schedule on August 1st, so guess where I will be in 2 short months?  Buying more crayons, pencils, folders, markers, scissors (it's a never ending cycle), but NOT erasers!

All the surplus of stuff our kids come home with...makes you wonder if they really need all those supplies huh?
